Chapter 11
SASHA
Sawyer definitely knew how to aggravate the hell out of me. But I understood his concern. If Patrick Abbott was as dangerous as Sawyer said he was, then I would do as I was told. Especially, after Joe went down for some robbery charge. My cousin was a screw-up, but he had never done anything like armed robbery before. And the fact that he plead guilty without a fight told me all that I needed to know. My cousin was afraid, and his ass set me up.
I was livid, but there was nobody to blame but myself. I shouldâve never gone to Joe or gotten mixed up with a loan shark. So, when Sawyer acts all overprotective, I take him seriously. Because thereâs no way I wanted to be the next installment of Taken. I trusted Sawyer and all, but I donât think he can pull off Bryan Mills. I would take my chances with Flynn. As quiet as he was, he didnât strike me as a threat. He just seemed to be very aware of everything that was going on around him. He actually intrigued the hell out of me, and I found myself sketching him on one of my pads.
Iâd gotten finished with all my work, and I didnât want to go back to the mansion that I now called home. I was avoiding my feelings for Sawyer, and I didnât know how to deal with everything that was going on in my life right now.
âHey, Brat. You got a visitor.â Flynn said in his thick Irish accent. He appeared in the doorway of my office out of nowhere. For a big guy, he sure did move quietly.
âUmm. I donât have any appointments scheduled, who is it?â I asked with a wrinkled brow as I rose from my chair to see who was outside my office. I was confused because I didnât have any appointments, and the gallery is usually closed on Sundays.
âAustin Thomas.â Flynnâs voice was flat, but I couldnât tell if that was his normal tone or not. I was shocked that Austin had shown up to the gallery. I hadnât talked to him in a few weeks. After the baby shower, he kept hounding me for details about Sawyer and his business. Any time we were together, the conversation would be about Sawyer Nash. He didnât seem interested in getting to know me, so I decided we should just be friends. He agreed, and that was that.
âWhat is he doing here?â I mumbled under my breath as I rounded my desk.
âDonât know. Do you want me to get rid of him?â Flynn asked. I smirked at him because, just as I suspected, Flynn may not say much, but he saw and heard everything.
âNo. Iâm good. You can send him in.â Flynn nodded, and I leaned against my desk to wait for Austin. A few seconds later, Austin entered wearing what I called his ârelaxedâ wear. His blue collared golf shirt was tucked into a pair of dark gray chino pants.
